This course explore the Cisco command-line interface using an out-of-band connection with a cable and terminal program. We will then get into how to access the switch’s three modes—user EXEC, privileged EXEC, and global configuration—and use commands to configure essential settings.

Learn about the built-in help features, help commands, and the Tab key function. I’ll then cover the basic global commands used to configure essential switch settings.

After addressing the switch and configuring a default gateway, we will explain how to modify individual port modes, secure those ports, and create and manage virtual LANs (VLANs).
