Learn about Organizational Behavior, models and approaches.

Organizational behavior (OB) or organizational behaviour is the study of human behavior in organizational settings, the interface between human behavior and the organization, and the organization itself. Organizational behavior research can be categorized in at least three ways: individuals in organizations (micro-level), work groups (meso-level) and how organizations behave (macro-level). Organization theory is concerned with explaining the workings of an organization as a whole or of many organizations.

Organizational behavior researchers study the behavior of individuals primarily in their organizational roles. One of the main goals of organizational behavior research is “to revitalize organizational theory and develop a better conceptualization of organizational life. As a multi-disciplinary science, organizational behavior has been influenced by developments in a number of related disciplines, including sociology, industrial/organizational psychology, and economics. A variety of methods are used in organizational behavior, many of which are found in other social sciences.
